About the Book
|
The whole manuscript of Chyatna Nasakeko Chithi (A letter untorn ) is a last minute confessional letter written by a housewife to her former flame just before making a surprise appearance at his place. A twist of events changes her mind, rendering the letter obsolete. The letter, however, ends with a postscript note and her desire for it to be read for whatever it is worth.
The novelette tells the story of a purist's obsessive pursuit of passionate love. The protagonist encounters, upon its failure, a perspective to look at love in a completely new way.
The story tries to reveal the fine line between discovery and invention, reacting medium and chemistry, compromise and acceptance in an emotional relationship between a man and a woman.
From the youthful days of the author in the form of a novelette, Chyatna Nasakeko Chithi comes as an inquiry into the subtleties of a passionate love in a captivating linguistic style of Parijat.
The book received the INLS Late Dilliram Timsina Best
New Writer Award 2007.
